Breath Scent Control
I was just wondering how many peoeple try to mask the scent of thier breath. I know there is products out there like gum and probally toothpaste. I just got some scent masking products for my birthday, they work good. To test it I pulled out an old gym shirt I had sitting in my backpack since Mid-June. Spayed the whole thing, I didnt smell anything at all.

RE: Breath Scent Control
Just brush your teeth with baking soda before you hit the woods in the morning. If you are overly worried about it, gargle with baking soda right before you enter your hunting spot, then rinse with water. You should be fine.

I usually just grab a nice handful ofdirtevery half hour or so and chew it for a little bit. The abrasive nature of the dirt does wonders for your teeth, and it really covers the natural scent of human breath.
I read somewhere that the indians used to do this to get close to whitetails and bison once the foliage came off in the winter. When you think about it, you're covering your breath with dirt from the deer's home range. He is used to that smell, and won't be alarmed by it. Moss or treebark works fine too. |
RE: Breath Scent Control
Maybe spray a face mask with scent killer and wear that.

What’d you do to your Mom to tick her off like that?

RE: Breath Scent Control
A nice hearty chew of Levi Garrett has never cost a single deer for me, I have actually SEEN a few deer come in right under me and check out the spit pile and still not spook, even on some highly hunted public national forest land I hunt sometimes. If I don't see a single deer at all during a hunt, it's not because I'm spittin' on the ground, it's because I chose a bad stand location, a bad time of day,or a bad day overall to hunt. I know I aint gonna be chewin on mud in the stand that's for sure, and I'm willing to bet that NOBODY here does that. Maybe the indians did it, but I'll betyou they chewed tobacco more than they did dirt or dadgum treebark. Talk about fiber!!![:'(][:'(][:'(]
