I shot a mathews out back and I use a single pin sight and I shot hunting accurate "5in group"out to 40 yards. How do you think the instinctive shooters do it with no pins at all you just have to practice a lot and know your equipment
Very true.

Or of course... that one pin could move....but I think we all know what the commercial means. Theorhetcially, my spelling is inaccurate, but more to the point, if you had it hitting 2-3" high at 20 yards and were shooting a light arrow with almost no offset or helical in your vanes, you'd probably be about 2.5-3" low at 40 yards if you were shooting faster than 320.

Could you do it and be "minute of deer"..... yes you could. Is minute of deer good enough for most of us on this site? Absolutely not.... but speed sells bows... PSE does that pretty well.

A friend of mine shoots one pin out to 70. He just compensates for the drop. At 50yards, he has a 7" drop while holding dead on. He shot a 148" buck at 55yards and a doe at 70yards.

He is also pulling 96lbs.
At what distance is he sighted in dead on for?

When I think of shooting one pin to X number of yds I think of flat trajectory (sp)? I shoot one pin out to 27 yds exactly without having to do anything. No holding high or anything. I can shoot the same pin from0 to 27 yds and hold it the same. When move to 30 yds-31 yds I have to hold that same pin about 2 in high to hit the center.

That's not entirely true, either, VA:D

You're not shooting flat to there. You're probably shooting flat (no fall) for less than 15yds.

(but I get what you're saying;))

I can ride my bike with no handlebars

I work with 2 people who are avid bowhunters that claim their bows are flat to 40:D:D:D

That is a pet peeve of mine! Not possible and must be a macho thing!

10+ inches of compensation at 70 yards, imagine how deadly he would be if he used the correct number of pins[:-]
Hey, dont rag on me- I have 5 pins in my site. He actually does super well with his set-up. He's not afraid to shoot far at all. His goal this year is 90yards, der harvest.

At what distance is he sighted in dead on for?
I believe 20yards...He is pulling 96lbs and if I can recall correctly, he is shooting in the 350-360fps range, if not faster

We use guns for that.

I shot in the finals of the "King of the Mountain" 3D competition at the Denton Hill PA Bow Festival on Sunday and the guy I shot against (The champion for the last 4yrs) had one of these set ups withan X-Force shooting 344fps (31", 70#)

And boy was that thingfast.......[:-]
He was a good shooter and pretty accurate with it for the most part.
Just not accurate enough to make it 5 in a row.
;)

RE: I can shoot 1 pin out to 60yds.

Yeh you know what I mean Jeff, I just shoot one pin from 0-27 yds without having to hold the bow any differently. Pass that point I have to change, so if I were to shoot multiple pins, I would put another pin in the site at that point. Also, for someone who said their friend is looking to shoot a deer at 90 yds this year....why?? isn't the point of bowhunting to get them close to make a clean shot? I mean that's great if ha can shoot that far, but I think the deer deserve a bit more than that. I mean what's the point in tryin g to kill one that far??
