RE: slick tricks vs. muzzy mx3 or 4's
Definitely, Slick tricks. I was out shooting them last night right along with my field tips. They were shooting right in the same group. I use the 1 1/8" 100 grain Magnums.
I'm also going to try the Grizztricks. If they fly well, I'll use them too. |

What about penetration of the Slick Tricks versus the Muzzy's?

Never shot a ST, so can't comment. Shot Muzzy for years, like I said in another thread. Would not rec'd the MX-4 to anyone. Their other heads you will do fine with.
You might want to take a look at the Steeforce Phathead. Tough as heck (thickest blades on the market), and flies fantastic. We have had just phenomenal luck with them so far (turkeys and a bunch of hogs). |
RE: slick tricks vs. muzzy mx3 or 4's
I would definately say the slick tricks out of those two choices. Muzzy are good but i would prefer the steel construction of the trick vs. the aluminum construction of the muzzy.
I used the tricks last year and I was VERY impressed. I was shooting the 85 gr. then and I blew clear thru a huge doe, buster her offside leg and the arrow stuck in the ground. I had a blood trail stevie wonder could follow. This year I plan on using the magnus buzzcut and the slick trick but this year I am carrying the 100 gr. magnum.;) rick |
