You can also try digging a foxhole in the ground. Be careful so dig your hideout somewhere off the beaten path, so that the deer doesn't inadvertently step into your fall on top of you.

Just kinda peer the top of your head out of the trench, likea periscope. When the deer gets close, just pop up like a groundhog and open fire.
