For me I'd shoot him. If you have enough property to manage and keep your bucks on "your" ground then I guess I may do what you are doing.. In MO though with rifle season it would be a shame to see a neighbor drop him at a couple hundred yards and you never see him again.. But if ya got the property to keep him on then I tell ya what.. Next year he will be incredible..

Didn't want to start another post but wanted to share another buck. Again, not quite a shooter this year on this property but next year should be a fine buck.

Well guys, what would you say he would score? Where we hunt it isn't extremely pressured and is on 300 acres. I know he is a dandy buck but like I said before, he could be a stud next year. We don'tadopt the philosophy that if we don't shoot it somebody else will. We just can't think that way. I will pass on thisbuck not necessarily b/c I can shoot something bigger this year but for what he might become next year. Call me crazy but this is what my hunting partners and I are trying to develop on our land.
I won't call you crazy drummer. If that is where you are at with your goals, then by all means keep at it. 300 acres is a small area to expect a buck to hang. This guy, this year, is definately gonna want to go out and get his freak on. I hope for your sake that he makes it. I would love to see you with him next year. I totally agree with the notion that you should shoot him because someone else "might." If you shoot him, he is what he is, if you don't he has a chance. That said, he walks under me, I am gonna drill him everytime. He is all of 140 and more, where I hunt you can put that rack on a fawn and I will aim at the spots.

I would "Pass Thru Him" but not "Pass On Him".
