trophy ridge matrix sight
 

i just bought a trophy ridge matrix sight 3 pin, my eyes are not that good and wanted a full field of view. have any of you had any trouble with theses sights?

I have used the Matrix for two seasons and like it. Some have experienced trouble with yardage in between pins because of the pin shaft. For example, shooting at 25 yards with a pin set at 20 and one at 30. Nothing a little practice shouldn't fix.

I have used the three pin Matrix sight for the last 3 seasons. I have no problem with in between yardages (just split the pins). The sight has a nice wide open sight window. The only problem I am having is that the pins seem to be a little too big, thereby blocking my intended shot placement. I wish the pins were a little smaller. Other than that, it is a very good hunting sight compared the horizontal sights I have used in the past.

Ive had mine for over 2 years now and i like it. No complaints.

Does your site have the .019in or the .029in pins? I went with the .019 for this reason. They are still easy to see in low light conditions.

.019 . i love the sight so far.have you guys had anyproblems with the pins getting loose and moving? thats my only concern.

I will likely just stick with the sight I have for this year, but since before last season I have been seriously considering the five pin matrix in .019. I have an anniversary coming up in September. I may just have to request it.

I bought some a few weeks ago. I've been to a few shoots and they seem great!

I loved the thought of the full field of view offered by the matrix, but hated how you cant pin gap after shooting one.

I found this and solved all my problems....I just need smaller pins now.[:o]



Vital Gear makes it, and I love it. I just ordered the .029 pins back when I ordered it 2 years ago and really, really, really want .019. In fact, I am changing them this winter.

The Matrix was "souped up" for 2008, addressing the complaints with the pins, gap shooting, and blending into one pin in low light with the addition of the TIC ViPins. Each pins is flared slightly at the tip, allowing you to differentiate between the pins...I tested it in all conditions this spring from the Double Bull, with no sight light, and never was there an instant that I couldnt differentiate between pins. Simple yet effective fix.

Also - the eralier Matrix sights, those with the wingnut bolts; they had a tendancy to loosen. That design has been replaced, making the Guide Series Matrix the standard issue now.
