I was referring to the flatter trajectory of downward shots (in close), compared to a more horizontal one. There is less gravitational pull as you shoot more vertical. I guess with modern bows having incredibly flat trajectory to beginwith, this might not be a concern. An extreme downward (straight down) shot is something you want to avoid on an animal, I know. They can be done, but not a good idea, nonetheless.
The poster brought it up, so from tree height, what else could he be referring to? Maybe he hunts from the ground, but that wasn't mentioned.

I hear ya ROb....

My point in asking my question was to show how INSIGNIFICANT the angle is when determining where to aim. A 15yd shot from 15' up results in a shot that's less than 1yd differencethan the horizontally measureddistance.

Translation......non-negligible to the hunter. I agree with you. Use proper form and shoot your pins you sighted in from the ground.

Oh jeeze, I am just kidding around. Don't mean to offend, that's for sure.
I've committed crimes against the English language myself.
I get amused whenI see it done is all.
I don't want to end up whacked! Please forgive!!

The recent thread got me going on this subject, soI thought I would inject it into the discussion is all.

There's no problem. Not too much escapes us though.

The "gist" of it is....sights with multiple pins don't have moving parts. Never have to move anything to use it.....and there's never a chance of it being "set" on something else when the moment of truth comes.

That's all.....and enough for me.
Ok I love my new HHa sight but I have to admit one time at Rob's I forgot to turn my pin back from 50 to 30 and shot over his yote at 30 yards! And lost a game of buck in the process! When I am out in the woods with my General I will set it on 27yards and will be fine out to about 33to 35 without having to worry!
One more thing I will try that today Jeff and let you know how I make out!

i recently switched back to my pendulum, however when i use pins i only have a 10 and 20 i don't shoot farther then 20 get closer to the game and don't worry about beyond.

I use a 15 25 35pin setup so if it is alittle past i just aim alittle high and i am good to go.
