RE: Expandable broadheads NEED SUGGESTIONS

ORIGINAL: dws

I hate to sound like a jerk but, instead of spending time on here trying to find a shortcut, go shoot some broadheads. It shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to get any descent fixed blade to shoot good. If you really don't have time for that, I can recommend Spitfires for a mechanical but
I would still shoot them and sight in with them first before I went hunting.

well said. I would spend a little time making sure they fly right. Shouldnt take long if you get someone from that shop that knows what they are doing

Thanks everyone for their input. I just got back and will be shooting Muzzy MX3's. I figured the local bow shop would have broadheads to try out but that was not the case. So I chose the Muzzy fix blades and they shot rather well. A little tuning needed but nothing too bad.

So in two weeks time I now have one less thing to worry about.

Thanks again.

When you say a litttle tuning....what did you have to do?

They immediately shot 4" high at 20yrds. Dead on left to right. So we shot through paper and it was shooting point high. Moved the rest slightly and paper shot it again. Tip in center of rip. Shot the Muzzy's again at 20yrds and they were within 2" of center.

So just need a little practice with them and I think all will be well.

That's the way to do it. You did great. Good luck to you on your elk hunt.;)
