Pin = Accuracy?

Been shooting ALOT lately, and noticed that my shots from 40 seem tighter than my shots from 30. Weird I know...but it's that way with my other 2 pins as well. I got to thinking whenI noticed that the red seemed to have a bad glow/halo around it, while the green doesnt- it's sharp and clear. Im assuming this could be a reason as to why my groups with my red pins don't group as tight as the groups with my green pins, right?

Or is it just me...

Just venting...frustrated from my shooting at 30 today...

I've noticed at times that my groups from 40 are better than my 30 groups. Then again I've also had times when my 60's are better than my 50's....I just chalk it up to me being inconsistent more than anything else, such as equiptment issues.

It's very common for most that red is the worst color in pins. Many of us have eliminated red from our pin lineup. Take my new Viper Sights. I use green, yellow, green, yellow.

Green shows up the best, the earliest and the latest for me. Red is terrible for me as well so it's off my bows.

Let me guess.....

You about 40?;)

I hate red, too. I can't see it nearly as clearly (poet;)). Green pins are great.....but my target sight had really orange pins (npt yellow) and they were also great.

The red .010 pin on my Viper "elongated" in my sight window. I got rid of it;)(the pin, itself) and replaced it with another color.

hmmm now im wondering what pins are on my Viper...

i know my truglo had green yellow and red...red was terrible...dim and looked huge to me...

i know on my Viper one of the colors i like just as much as green..maybe more...might be yellow...but i think i might have a red...gunna hafta look when i get home tomorrow night! but, the truglo had .029 pins...the viper has .010 pins...huge difference....and the pins seem alot better on the viper...

I'd like to do that with mine...wouldn't mind having yellow. I just got into archery this year and haven't messed with alot of this stuff...is changing them out from a Cobra Boomslang possible?

It isn't your eye sight, the red does that.Worse on cheaper fibers.

The way your body settles in at longer distances can make it easier to shoot from those distances, along with peep placement. So it is entirely possible you are just more comfortable OR have less expectations and are happier with the results.:D

whats wrong with this?[8D]

I hate my red pin as well guys. I have a green, red, yellow set up....it sucks. Its harder for me to use the middle pin as is for some reason, then to top it off the color red sucks for pins IMO.

My pins are .029, and I will be switching to something .019 after this season. I dont like how fat these pins are, they eat up potential accuracy. Its hard to "aim small" when your pins can practically cover a grapefruit from 30 yards....lmao.
