Anybody got the link to the homemade lighted nock video?

I've seen that video a few times, but for some reason was never that interested in making my own -- even given the fact I'm somewhat mechanically inclined and even made my own cresting machine and other gizmos...

Well, today I'm taking a break from the archery counter and walking through the store and a Bass Pro employee spots me and says "You're a BowTech guy; you'd appreciate this..." and proceeds to show me one of these little lighted floater batteries guys use to make these homemade lighted nocks.

After actually holding it in my hands (he also had a nock he was playing with so he could better demonstrate his idea of how to make it work) and seeing how easily and surely it activated when turning it on and off, I went and bought their last two batteries they had.

$3.50 apiece and a smidgeon of time which I'm now anticipating as fun for some reason, and I'll save me a ton of money and I really think I can have something that'll rival the production products.

Yeah you'd think, break one battery and your even. Screw up an arrow your behind. You have to buy dowel rods, cheap sure, cut them percisely, glue them in, hope the depth is right that glue dries fast.
The batteries were not designed for abuse of slamming to a stop at 300 FPS.

Basically I'm saying I've made my share. Fun yes, money saving hardly! Do they last? 1 in 3 at 3.50 a pop plus extras thats $10.50+. Most over the counter ones sell for less then 10 bucks.

As for the video you can find it on You tube. With a search.

It's fun Greg and I wish you luck. But I didn't net a savings at ALL!

Interesting video...not exactly the magnets trigger of the tracer nock, but still works.

OK, I just watched the video on Rob's link... That's the one I remember. Have you watched that one, Gr8? That looks darn easy, and a tube of super glue (which I've already got), some extra nocks and these batteries is all it takes? Looks like it should work flawlessly. [8D]

I may not have time for a while, but I'll try to report back with my findings after I build some... I've got the Bass Pro show this weekend, Cabela's next weekend and my Colorado elk trip a few days after that.

Somewhere in there I've got to churn my next column out, too.

I'm excited about it again now after watching the video... so nyah, nyah nyah to you party pooper! :D

I just made two of them... I want to let the epoxy harden overnight, but I'm telling you -- it was a breeze.

Provided they work halfway decently, I'll be picking up five or six more of these little Thill Nite Lite batteries. I'm very pleased with how easy this process is, as well as how cheap.
