md....really....I post up stuff, sometimes....just so someone will educate me and prove me wrong. Sometimes they do...and I'm not above (I've done it MANY, many times) saying I was wrong. Rob did that for me in the "calling" thread, just today.
We had a HELLUVA discussion on shield v Barred feathers the other day that was AWESOME! No arguments, at all. I learned a ton.

I think Fletch920 must live in a place with limited doe tags. I think GMMAT has the same deal as we do here in Alabama. Unlimited does, no tags required. I can kill two deer per day, only one of which may have antlers, provided I kill no more than three bucks per year. That is a whole lot of does that I can kill if I choose to and get the chance. With a setup like that, there is no reason not to shoot every doe you see if you have a severly screwed buck:doe ratio.
I do not have that problem, so I do not try to kill every doe that I see. I do try to kill at least one or two for meat. If that means taking a fawn doe, so be it.

You are correct backwoods. I can kill 2 deer/day....with not more than 2 of them being antlered bucks for the season. If I filled my tags (all available)....I'd kill 200 deer/yr.
The tag situation (where I hunt) is the way it is.....for a reason. My outlook on the taking of does is, as well.
