question for mathews bow owners
I'm considering buying a new bow, and i have it narrowed down to two choices, either the mathews dxt or the mathews switchback. for any of you who shoot these bows, what are their good points/bad points? also, the dxt is only 29" axle to axle. is it true that shorter bows are not as accurate? thanks for your help guys

Ya shoot dem bows..

RE: question for mathews bow owners
yes i have shot them both, and as for their performance on the range, i seemed to shoot better with the switchback. then again, the dxt seemed to be smoother drawing and shooting. so i don't know its a close race, which is why i asked for things you like or dislike about each bow. hopefully your opinions will help me decide. thanks for replying guys

RE: question for mathews bow owners
Buy the Switchback then trade it to me for my LX:D

RE: question for mathews bow owners
IMO the switchback is the better choice over the DXT.
It's a more stable bow, does not have as much jump or vibration as the DXT, and IMO just plain shoots better. ;) |
RE: question for mathews bow owners
dxt has some hand shock, but as long as your steady the bow will shoot fine, it's also pretty fast, i chose the DXT considering i like a shorter ata. it's up to you what your looking for

RE: question for mathews bow owners
I do not like the shorter ATA like the ATA around 32-36 inches. Think you would be happy with either just choose the one you like best, season will be here before you know it.
Good luck this season. |
RE: question for mathews bow owners
I shoot the switchback and love it. THe dxt is shorter and lighter. either way you can't go wrong both are great bows.

RE: question for mathews bow owners
I like the short bows, so I love the DXT. Accuracy of it is dependent on your form. The '08 S2 is the sleeper this year IMO, very nice bow that is not being pushed by Mathews but is preferred bysome over the DXT. As the name implies, it is a continuation of the Switchback line.
I had a buddy that hated the DXT and couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with it so he bought a 101st. Two months later I talked him into shooting a S2 which he bought and then sold the 101st. He had 3 robin hoods in the first month he owned it. It's worth shooting. |
