I prefer the Striker just for the fact that you can replace the broadheads, where as the Montec you have to sharpen them....which is not for me.

My Strikers shot like my field tips.....so I am sold

If you wan't replaceable blades go with the strikers, if you want to sharpen the heads yourself then go with the montecs. Both are excellent heads and will get the job done.

i am sure both are great. I know the G5's are extremely sharp and fly well.

dang that's weird germ. I dont think I had ever heard of anyone losing a blade on a striker before. You sure arent going to go wrong with the montecs either though.

RE: Montec v. Striker!

I have shot and hunted with both. I like the Strikers and it's what I'm using now.. They are very very sharp and usually very stong. Replacable blades and they fly great.
Out of the box the Montecs are not very sharp and they take a lof of honing to get them sharp but G5 says they are designed that way, more like a meat cleaver than a razor. Plus for me they always whistled when they flew, that's why I got rid of them..

Oh, Strikers did have a problem with loose blades for a while like most broadheads that tighten at the base do.. But G5 has said they this was corrected.. None of mine are loose anymore.. I sent the loose one back and they replaced them for me...
