How important is a Stabalizer?
On a scale of 1 to 10.
10 being important as a broadhead. 1 being important as pink socks. |

ORIGINAL: PreacherTony It depends ..... for hunting it is mostly just super cool looking ;) Is that why you have 1? Guys you try and get every bit cool as you can..jk so your saying its not needed in hunting at all? Getting my bow back tonight and if im going to shoot it, ill want what ill be hunting with on it. |
RE: How important is a Stabalizer?
I don't use one...

RE: How important is a Stabalizer?
I voted 1. It is all about what feels best to the shooter. Some guys like to add weight while others just want extra vibration dampening. Some want both.

RE: How important is a Stabalizer?
I use the Sims Mini S-Coil stabilizer. More for dampening purposes than anything else though. As heavy as the Vectrix XL is, it doesn't need more stabilization.;):D

RE: How important is a Stabalizer?
I had to vote three, just because they can be useful. I put an s-coil on my switchback xt just for vibration dampening. The thing is so well balanced that I did not feel adding weight was needed. I have not shot it without the s-coil, so I can't speak to how much that is truly needed. I just figured it would look naked without it when I was buying, so that is what I went with.

RE: How important is a Stabalizer?
ORIGINAL: DropTine249 Dude, pink socks are like super important. So I vote 1 !!! Getting back to the regulary scheduled program.... I have a question. On a lighter weight bow, does the added weight of a stabilizer help at all in quieting the shot??? |
RE: How important is a Stabalizer?
If you are shooting down from a treestand they would seem to lose all of their stabilizing effectiveness. The weight is no longer out front but hanging down at some angle. I don't use one myself but if I did I would get a super cool looking one that had some noise dampenening function also.

RE: How important is a Stabalizer?
In the old days when bows shot 180 fps and were noisy as hell, they help.
On new bows that shoot 250+ I dont care how noisy it is, the arrow will be there quicker than I would do Jessica Alba, If you keep it under 25 yds. And I dont care how quiet your bow is, at 25+ yds, in the woods, a deer will hear it coming. New bows dont need them. |

Make that Obama Girl and then its real, Im shooting a 50#, never had it tested but its maxed out at that. PS: Obama Girl can be seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKsoXHYICqU |
