RE: fixed or machenical?
they do work in the right hands and armed with the right knowledge......then again so does and atlatl...I would tell you to stick to fixed heads till you get some knowledge of bowhunting and get under someones wing. The less factors you can throw into an equation, the easier the equation will be to figure out.......

RE: fixed or machenical?
For the last few years I have been using mechanicals. The Spitfires I have used have never failed. I like them because they shoot like field points, everything stays the same from practice to hunting.

RE: fixed or machenical?
I use Spitfires also and have never had one fail. Of the 10 deer I' ve taken with them 8 have died within sight. They shoot just like my field points. I tried the Shockwaves this year and could not get them to fly as well. So I' ll stick with the Spitfires.

I really like my muzzy' s they work nice.

RE: fixed or machenical?
They work but not as good as fixed. Your setup is the determining factor. Without knowing what you have and how it shoots I' d say stay with fixed until you get this all figured out.
