tree stand when to hang

OK i will be hunting public land this year.
Here you can not set up a stand until sept 1st

I am wanting to shoot some practice from my tree stand. but i need a target and i am broke until the 1st.

Season starts the first of oct. One month from the date you can hang your stand.
Would it be OK if i shot some say the first week or to of sept then hang it two weeks before season.

Or should i hang the stand the beginning of sept. and not shoot from it.

Or hang it and take the target to my hunting spot and shoot there.
If i do this what is it going to do to the spot.

This is a prime spot i do not want to be spooking deer target practicing there.

But i do not want to hunt from the stand without practice
But i want them to have enough time to get to know the stand

what should i do i know this will not be a issue next year because i plan to buy one or two more stands in jan when they go on sell.

Couple of thoughts:

See if you can find a deck/roof/ladder that will provide the needed practice height (be safe). Or, borrowa friends stand. Then, you can hang your stand whenever you want.

I definitely would not practice at one of my prime spots.

What are you shooting at for a target now?

You should have no problem hanging a stand two weeks before. Just do it mid day like you were hiking out there. You should start shooting as soon as possible, Make your own target if you are on a budget. Go to the liquor store and take all of their boxes. pick a larger case and cut down the other boxes to fit into that one. cram them in there until you cannot get even one more in. Make two of these and put one behind the other. Shoot away! While they don't work as good as other options they are FREE.

What about making it so they all lay flat adn you put a ratchet strap around them. I bet this would stop an arrow, removal might not be so easy tho.
