Idaho Elk nearing the rut

Hereis the proof taken by a friend of mine. This bull lives on the edge of town and has become an iconof sorts. Everyone was wondering what would happen when the rut kicked in. Well, now we know! He is going to live an aternate lifestyle.....

I was wondering the same thing! But in this case I dont think that it will.......

A guy from work was riding his bike in the morning, this elk walks right up to the fence to check people out, while he was taking pictures, the whole thing unfolded right in front of him. Some people have all the luck. He had to download it pretty quick because it was his daughters camera!

I'd say so. So he seems confused on two different aspects. No matter what I'm betting that THAT does not cause offspring.:D

If its photoshop then someone did a great job b/c look at the shadows of the elk's body on the bull.

This shows that it all revolves around when the cows/does/etc are the ones that control the "when" factor:D

I have watched these animals interact, they lay around the pasture together and even groom each other, but never would I have expected this!
