Video cameras??

Who records their hunts? What kind of camera are you using? I'm looking for a good camera that isn't very expensive. SCBigBuckHunter and I will be filming some of our hunts this season and there's a very good posibilty they will end up on tv. I want something that will give me good quality without breaking the bank! Thanks!

I'm using a DVX-100B to film my hunts.

Are you looking at a HD (High Definition) or a SD (Standard Definition) camera?

For a SD camera, find a Sony PD170. Its amazing in low light and has a great crisp picture.

Used ones are floating around in the $1200-$1500 range. If there is any intent of TV, thats about the lowest you can go.

How about the canon GL1 mini cam? There are a few of these a little closer to the budget.
Thanks for the help

Like teamHB said, if it's going on TV, you are going to need to spend at least $1200 and that's proabably just for the camera. There lots of extra junk that goes along with it. It's a very expensive hobby to get into. As if all the hunting gear isn't expensive enough.

We use a Canon GL2. I started out with a nicer Sony Handycam. Make sure you read up before you buy a camera. A good camera arm with a fluid head can cost as much as the camera itself. Good luck.
