Mother Nature or Equipment?
Its a blast to talk and learn about all of the gadgets and our experiences we have with them. We learn alot from each other ...no doubt...
When will we talk more about the experience on stand?...the chickadee on the tip of your arrow? The red tail hawk that pulled that dove out of the air?.... When will we talk moreabout the feeling we have in the outdoors, and how it helps us break away from the dailyisms... We need to discuss this more....Your thoughts???????? MW |
RE: Mother Nature or Equipment?
I couldn't agree more!It is easy to get caught up with all the gadgets and toys of hunting. Of all of my memories of being out in the woods maybe 5% of them have anything to do with how much money I spent on gadgets. One of my best moments in the woods came when I was able watch two bucks fight from only about 20 yards away. For those few moments I was an ovserver. I couldn't do anything but watch. It felt great!
I have also found that working on food plots with the one who taught me to hunt, my father, has made deer hunting a year round activity that has little to do with all of the gadgets I buy. It is about spending time doing what you enjoy with the people who hopefully enjoy being with you. :D Once again, great post. It really got me to thinkin'! This is not somethingI should do on a regular basis.[8D] |

RE: Mother Nature or Equipment?
You know my answer Brian! I don't carry none of that gadget stuff on my bow, don't need it. I don't have to worry about it. It gives me more time to enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer. I love my style of hunting, It fits me well. Its simple, Its relaxing. Enough said.

RE: Mother Nature or Equipment?
first year hunting with my father we were sitting in a stand together when we see a doe walk out and her two fawns we were hunting in a swamp with mud holes full of water all over the place. the doe walked away feeding but keepin an eye on the little ones and the two fawns just jumped around in the water on the ground it is kinda sappy but it was fun to watch. needless to say we didnt get a deer that day lol

the shot at the buck you hunt is only a second long in time. There are countless hours spent watching nature. I would be out in the woods just watching nature before I was old enough to hunt, and I still do the same now. Only now its called scouting. I like to bow hunt because I love nature, and I get to see her in all beauty. How lucky we are that we have taken the right path down lifes trails.

Funny you should mention this...
Lisa and I rode the roads, Sunday, glassing fields and such. She got to see her first coyote. There was a buck and a doe feeding in the corner of the field.....and we watched a beautiful, black coyote stalk towards them in the beans. It was cool because we knew the deer couldn't see him. Not sure if they winded him or not.....but they left before he closed the distance, fully. I saw another (maybe another) black coyote, this morning on the way into the office.....about 1mi. from where we saw the one, Sunday. Cool stuff;) |
RE: Mother Nature or Equipment?
Yeah! Its cool to add mother nature to our technical side of things. I wish we had more posts to topics like this...remember guys
Hunting = Setup + Mother Nature= Memories Never forget the times you have in the woods with mother nature, the wildlife, and the people you love and mean most to you. Being with those you love in the woods...is what its all about...embrace those sunsets.... Embrace'em MW |
RE: Mother Nature or Equipment?
I am enjoying Mother Nature at her finest out at my place every weekend and maybe even a time or 2 after work thru the week.:)
