Best Index Finger Trigger Release

After reading quiksilver's trigger punching thread, I realized maybe it's time for me to invest in a quality release. Currently I have a tru ball and it works ok I guess but it just seems like it has a rather long stroke in order to trigger it. I believe this is partially responsible for the punching that I do myself.

What I am looking for now is a release with a crisp, short strokehair trigger. Price should be no more than about a hundred dollars. I researched a little on the "Carter 2 shot" but the only thing I don't like is that it makes a light clicking noise when it locks according to this: http://forums.huntingresource.com/index.php?showtopic=40

Suggestions on a quality item?

Your Tru-Ball should be adjustable for slack take up and pull.

The Carter 2 shot will not click if you are carefull and use the thumb controll I have used it since they made them. My wife has one and we have never had aproblem with the click except when not paying attention. I give the 2 shot a 5 star.

I have always used the Tru Fire releases. Most have an adjustment set screw to lighten the pull required.

Scott Little Goose is by far the best release I have ever used, touched, or observed. It is adjustable and made of all metal. I have 6 years on one and it works like it did on day one. Strap is even holding up and I have no doubt I will get another 6 years of use from it. Not sure how much of a hair trigger you need, but it falls really easy and short to me.

Scott makes some nice releases, but IMO the Carter 2 Shot is as good an index trigger release as is made.
