Not with a bow I have not. But my brother has taken several stalking them.

RE: Has anyone successfully stalked & killed a deer?

2 years ago I caught a glimpse of two bucks messing around about 200 yards in front of me. I walked slowly and even belly stalked for about the last 25 yards. When I got to within 50 yards I started giving little grunts and the older obvoiously wiser buck turned tail and got out and the other followed. I figured one of them (the younger and dumber one) would try to circle down wind so I double timed it up to a large tree that had fallen down. Sure enough the younger buck circled around behind the fallen down tree within 15 yards and I put him down. Its an experience you never forget.

This technique works best after dark, just put on a deer costume and you can walk right out into the fields with them.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

i have never shot them but have stalked them many times. usually i am in the deep woods and they are in a opening like an agricultural field. they have no idea i am there.

also have tried it in very thick woods with no success. by the time i can see them they have seen me. best success is after a rain with a light breeze. they have no idea you are there. one thing is there eyes are much more adept than ours so i always loose in the thick woods.
but yes very fun.

I'm talking about roaming through the woods with a bow and have actually taken a deer?

I hunt in very thick woods, but I'm thinking of trying it this year. I know that most deer are taken off stands or blinds, but I rarely hear about stalking.

Yes, I have. Walking the edges of fields on very windy days can be very productive. The wind needs to be in your favor however.
