Even though I shot them for many years, I now agree (like ABM) that Cabela' s Pro Lazer Mags suck. They are super sharp, but they are cheaply made and will lose their ability to spin true after just removing/replacing them in your quiver a few times. Many times they were slightly bent or the tip would come off after shooting a deer. I' m shooting Muzzy' s now.

I didn' t like the blood trails left by the old Razorback 5s... not the new ones. They only had a 7/8 inch cutting diameter and just didn' t cut it although I killed several deer over several years with them. It was always a tough trail. It wasn' t until I went to Thunderheads that I started seeing deer drop within sight etc. I tried and had similar experiences with some of the " OLDER" Savora' s and Satellites.

I had problems with Steel force 100 4 blade BHs. They seemed not to fly well, they whistled really bad, and they busted easy. I like the solid ferrel ones however. I also had alot of problems with Game tracker expandables. They hardly ever opened on me and the blades busted easily.

Witnessed a Snyper fail on an elk (Tip sheared off), had my own Snyper fail on a coyote (tip bent 70 degrees), and had a Gametracker Silvertip fail on a deer (killed the deer 2 days later during rifle season, and the BH was found in the upper rib AND NONE OF THE BLADES HAD DEPLOYED). I think that the Snyper is a fantastic design as far as blade deployment but the tip is definately a weak point. I shoot Muzzy 90 and 100 grain 4-blades and they fly like feild points up to 300 fps and leave BIG holes.

I was not impressed at all with Cabelas Lazer Exterminator expandables. I shot them into a broadhead target I had and they did not even penetrate through the first two inches of the target...plus the blades did not full open!

Two, though the head put the deer down and created an impressive wound, the Gametracker Silvertip that I used last season literally disintegrated on a spine shot doe. I do believe it was because of the shock angle/location that the head failed but I thought I would make mention of it anyway.

I shoot a lot of broadheads into dirt or sand target butts for leagues. Seems to me that Rockies were loosing the most blades. Muzzys always hold up the best for me.

I had the same experience as above with a Snyper, tip and ferrell both bent.

I also had problems with steelheads, mine made a buzzing sound in flight (I personally feel it' s the way the o-ring is positioned) and from the beginning I thought the threads are way to short on them. I had 3 out of 3 deer duck worse than any deer I have ever had duck before while using them(although they were all about 28+ yrd shots). I doubt at close range that they would have completely ducked them. And I had one come off in flight . Found the arrow but no head (?). I do think they' re tough and penetrate well , but you' ll never see me use them again.

I had problems with the Game Tracker X-Terminator broadheads. They flew okay, but, they weren' t very tough at all. I would have them break in the broadhead targets.

I don' t know if it was a freak accident, but, I watched one of my friends shoot a doe with a Muzzy at a whopping distance of 12 yards, from the ground. He hit it right around the shoulder blade and the broadhead broke. He still recovered the deer, but, we were shocked to see the the ferrule on it had broke when it hit the shoulder blade.

I havn' t had any big problems with my Thunderheads, just a little plaining. They have performed exceptionally well on the deer I have killed with them.

O yeah, the Cabelas Lazer Pro' s stink. I have never seen a broadhead that flew that bad in my entire life.

I used Snyper on a 400 Lbs Black Bear last year and I got a complete passtru, but one blade was lost, he ran only 40 yards [X(]. This year I used Snyper on a Javalina (40Lbs animal) and I didn' t got a passtru and got the tip bend 90 degrees [X(]. I got the chance to use this heads again this year in another javalina and the 2 blades broke off and I didn' t got the animal [X(]. This same year I chenge to Muzzy 4 blades 100grn and I got a 9 pointer complete passtru and no damage to the blades.[:-]

I used to be a fan of mechs from Snyper, Steel head, SpitFire now I' m a muzzy believer.

I still think mechs have their place in bow hunting; I think they' re perfect for Turkey hunting.
