RE: If it happened today......
There is NO way I would go. Can't stand hunting ranches big waste of money even if it is someone elses. I mean come on you go out there and most of the time you pick which one you want to shoot. That isn't hunting. One of the reasons I quit watching most of the hunting shows on TV is becasue of this. To me it isn't about going out there and getting a monster all though it would be nice but to know they are fenced in would take everything away from it for me.

I would go! Life is about experiences. It would be a great adventure. It would be fun to see how the other 1/2 of 1 % live!:D
you guys that said no should reconsider. Even if your not a big fan of fenced hunts it would be a once in a lifetime adventure. Heck you could just go and watch those huge deer and take some pics. Or miss on purpose and snicker to yourself as you say "oops":D |
RE: If it happened today......
Heck no...I hear half those deer have their antlers shot off.:D(Foxworthy shot the antlers off 2 bucks at Tecomate)

Love the way people make assumptions about things they know absolutely nothing about.
If you don't want to hunt there fine. But to talk about things like waiting on tame deer is just ignorant. |
RE: If it happened today......
No sir i would not. I don't even hunt over my cornpile...and all those deer are free ranging.

RE: If it happened today......
Well shoot if I could get my first deer with a bow!:D:D:DI really don't know if I would or not?

RE: If it happened today......
I believe I watched a hunt from that ranch on tv today. I must say, to me it was like waiting on tame deer.
I say this because, they had a female hunter who had neverkilled a deerbefore in a tower watching over baited roads/paths. Multiple "book" bucks were walking around, eating the corn at any given time. She ended up missing a giant, but that's besides the point. I feel that you pretty much could put anyone you want in that blind for an evening hunt and they could kill a huge deer. I do see the challenge in it, but that's just my opinion! I mean what would seperateWinke or Adams from some first time hunter on a place like that? She even made a comment like "it's really harder than you think, you have to be able to pick the gun up and get it steady, while your heart's beating 90 miles a minute." I guess if you consider that hunting, then go for it. On the other hand, I do see magic's point. I wouldn't mind trying something totally new. The only difference would be, i'd go down there eat some steak, drink some wine and go out the next day and shoot a 110" 1 1/2 year old. ;) |
RE: If it happened today......
My reply would be.... I'm on my way Mr. Foxworthy! :)

RE: If it happened today......
Do you get to hunt and hang out with Jeff? If so I would do it just for that. I'm not a very star struck person but Jeff is one of the people I wouldn't mind meeting.
And if someone else was footing the bill, what the heck. Hunting aside you still might have good time. Besides I would love to use my .243 since I can't hunt deer with it lower Michigan. I'd go even if I was limited to shooting a management buck or a doe. Providing I could get the time off from work. Paul |
