Different releases...different arrow flights
 

I just got a Scott Little Bitty Goose Deluxe release in the mail today so I was excited to go shoot with it. The release fits great and I love the adjustability of it. The 3 interchangeable triggers had me excited as well. However, when I shot it at 20 yards, my arrows were grouping six inches to the left of where my previous release was. I put the old release on and it shot fine. My previous release was an old Cobra caliper and an I also shot with a Primos .44 caliper. Both of those releases shot groups together. I could switch between releases whenever I wanted to. Both of those releases were double caliper releases and the Scott is a single caliper.

1) My question is, is it normal for the single and double caliper to shoot so differently, or might I have something else going on?
2) If this is normal, am I going to have to paper tune to the release?

I've pretty much always found single caliper releases will shoot differently than dual........they can tune differently too as the string or loop leaves the jaw/s at a different rate or position.
If I remember correctly my Scott Wildcat will shoot left of where my Scott rhino shoots becasue with the Rhino the string loop pulls straight away and with the Wildcat it must clear that one jaw bump.

No biggie. As long as you verify tune with the new release and plan to use it exclusively just re sight in.

You are probably getting a cleaner release as well with the goose.Atleast,thathas beenmy experience with single jaws verses double.

I'm going on a hog hunt tomorrow night so I'm going to wait to mess with it until after that. I fiddle way to much. Hopefully Saturday I'll start using the new release and re-tune to see what happens.

THe little hook releases shoot way different from caliper releases too.

Ive often wondered that myself, as it seems when i release on my tru ball ss2 it looks as if it kinda pushes my string to the left a little in order to clear properly.

jbowersox--I actually played around with my releases yesterday and found the same thing. One of them shot a little to the right.

I did the same thing when I tried switching from my tru-fire release that has more of a gradual jaw opening and of coursea different feel to a scott release myself. So I ended up going back to my tru-fire. I just couldn't get used to the feel of any other release. For me it was basically the feel of it I think? Anyway to make a long story short, after more practice I came to realize that the release was never part of the equation that needed to be changed for me.

So the new Scott release feels good to you but it won't group or does it just group to the right? What if you adjust your sight? Do you have any room to adjust your sight for this problem? What I am saying is, the difference in style(feel and fit) of release could be all that is throwing off your groups and nothing more..
