Which do you put more into?
Which do you put more time/effort into? Work or hunting?
For me it’s not much of a contest. Hunting far and away. My career field is just not that interesting to me where I would ever consider thinking about it outside of my workplace. And I’m not the type of person to bury themselves in long hour workdays. Hunting on the other hand…..well it’s not too hard to figure out my feelings on that subject. |
RE: Which do you put more into?
I seem to always be doing electrical work in what is supposed to be my off time. This weekend I'll be doing some electrical work for Russell,(Kanga), in his new shop. I have to run a circuit from the house to the shop and then install recepticles a switch and a light fixture. Thats Friday after work. I also do volunteer work for Cedar Creek Lake Area Habitat for Humanity. I have a house to finish up. I have to build the service and put in all the fans and fixtures and I'll be done with that one. A new house starts in a few weeks. They know I'm not available during hunting season though! I put a lot into hunting also, I just don't consider that to be work.

Message withdrawn for not thinking correctly at first!
Rybo, training camp is in though and I will be there on Saturday. |
RE: Which do you put more into?
If I put as much work into work as I do into hunting I'd own the company and it would rule the world! That's why it's called work and they pay us for it, because if they didn't nobody would do it.

RE: Which do you put more into?
Work unfortunately. When your income is based solely on your performance, and you are in direct control of that income.......it's a lot more motivating to get it done. Between office hours and the time spent at home I put in a solid 60+ hours a week. Heck, I just bought an iPhone so that I can work while in a treestand. [&:]

RE: Which do you put more into?
Ill truthfully say that im going to be putting more effort into hunting this year. I work customer service at a grocery store ([:'(]), so i don't really put much "effort" in, i just have to talk to people....its justa job until i start my career.

RE: Which do you put more into?
I was sitting here thinking and retract what I said. I split time with what I think about depending what time of the year it is. When the season is over, I start applying myself more to work. When I buy the new license its a whole different story. I appoligize for not thinking the question thru the first time.

RE: Which do you put more into?
considering the fact this forum is my computer screen more than work related programs, I would 100% say I'm more concerned about hunting than working. Funny you posted this, My hunting buddy and I were just discussing this.

RE: Which do you put more into?
Im in a lucky situation that i own the company with my father. Just like everything in life, owning your own business has its positives and its negatives. Fortunately i feel like the positives far outweigh the negatives in the long run. That being said, when work needs to be done, hunting and fishing takes the back seat, afterall, its work that is allowing me to buy bows, treestands, gizmos along with paying the bills. One major positive though is i have a very flexible schedule cause of this and come the fall ill base my work hours around when i want to hunt. Knock on wood, but ive been able to jugle it pretty well so far.

RE: Which do you put more into?
I can concentrate on working Jan to June! Starting in July, I think about hunting and get distracted. Starting in November, heck, I won't even show up for work most of the time!!! The boss don't get mad though, 'cause he is me!!!
