dirt cheap trail cam
 

i am thinking about buying a trail cam to put on my tree i will hang my stand i would like the cheapest one i can get as this is public land and i figure it will not make it the season.
before someone borrows it without returning it.

what would you recommend i would like your choice on a dirt cheap even if it is 35mm with a flash. and a nicer one digital with ir

I bought one of the Wildlife Views from Wally World last year ($50) and it didn't work out too well. I traded it in on the other one they had (Moltrie game cam, about $100) and it works great. Is pretty east to use, long battery life and fast trigger speeds and doesn't cost an arm and leg like some of the other cameras.

I can recommend not buy a wildview VGA (very poor pictures, flash, and eats batteries, super slow trigger speed) and not to buy the cheap Bushnell trail scout (poor pictures, flash ok, fast trigger speed butreally eats batteries). The old cheap stealth cam 35 mm takes surprisingly good pictures has great flash, good battery life, but slow trigger speed, sometimes doesn't trigger, and eventually the plastic film feed guide comes out and necessitates having to finagle the film with a toothpick to get it to feed. I suspect lot of people throw the camera away when this occurs. I've owned 7of the stealth cams(3 been stolen) 2 wildviews and 2 bushnells. I set mine on public land also, which is why I purchase the el cheapos.

I'd suggest the Moultrie Countryboymentioned. Then try to keep it out of sight. Try placing it up about 7 feet or so and use the laser to point in the direction you want. I can't say I ever "look up" for cameras.

Sportsmans Guide, Buyers Club Members only offer earlier this week. Wildview 3.0 Ir less than 100$, I want to say $70 but not sure.

This is one of area's where cheap isn't a good thing, but I can tell you how to do it for almost free. Tie thread across a trail high and low. If it's busted in both places it's a buck, low it's a doe. Vary it to dertmine size.:D
