Also depends on where you are in your hunting life. PLENTY of people who say they wouldn't shoot him............have shot lots of small bucks in their day.

i think it all depends on how many deer you have killed how big the bucks where i see no reason to shoot a buck because he is a buckwhen you could shoot a doe and get better meat. I have seen a 11 point on the public land i will hunt. i would let him go untill late in the season since i want the big buck on my wall

No, i would not but that decision is up to you.
Its in the eye of the beholder. It is not legal where i hunt. it has to have 4 points on one side, and even if it was legal i wouldn't shoot it. I've shot bucks of that caliber and i have raised my own personal bar. but if you should be so incline to take that buck i would say to congrats on a great buck.
good luck with that! take your son and let him shot it!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe I am hunting smarter and harder than ever, however my buck sightings have been down every year in the last 5 years except for 2005 where I saw 4 good bucks (8 points or above)... two within range, but no shot. The overall deer kill for the base I hunt was down over 35% last year, making it extremely tough to hunt. I have no idea how I arrowed three deer last year when I only saw 15 or so deer in the woods last year...the entire 3 month season. I am saying this because some people have to make a flash decision in sometimes seconds, as to whether they take the shot or not on a buck like I posted. Changes the game a bunch.
