Lingering Human Scent
 

How long do you suppose scent last in the field? I went to check cameras today and the grass was soaked. So would my scent stay longer since the grass was wet or would it stay longer if the grass was dry? How bout if its hot or cold? And when would the scent deteriorate enough that deer would ignore it? I've set cameras up and had pictures the day I set them up. Is that cause the scent is gone or faint enough to be disregarded by the deer as a threat? Just wondering if anyone had any insight on this.

I have no idea, but I like to schedule my stand hanging, scouting, etc..., right before a rain. Obviously you can't do that all the time, but if I'm planning on hanging a stand on say, a Monday, and they're calling for rain on Wednesday afternoon, if I can, I'll wait till Wednesday morning. My thought is that the rain will wash away my scent fairly quickly.
