I'm telling you guys, here is how they are doing it. Imagine that at full draw their peep sight is 4 inches above the arrow and their sight is 3 inches above arrow. The sight line is aiming down in relation to where the arrow is pointed. This would cause them to raise the bow and shoot higher. The sight line and the arrow's path will intersect quicker than a if the height of the peep and sight are closer...say 4 and 3.75 inches. I personally wouldn't setup a bow this way, but I see how this works for them.

Take this picture and lower the bow sight and keep the peep the same and what happens? That is what I'm saying is happening.

jbowersox--see this is why I asked in the very first thread by GMMAT about my bow not being set up properly since I have always done it myself. I am missing something fundamental. I am taking my bow to a pro-shop in the next couple of weeks to get restrung and tuned. Hopefully that will help me out.

Ok I did the same thing but I was only at 10 feet up on my buddies platform. I am shooting a bowtech 101st at 70 lbs with aQAD drop away rest and a vital bow gear star bright singal pin sight and a Fletcher peep sight and 350 maxima wieght forward arrows. Now I didn't go for a singal dot the size of my arrow I had a two inchcircle. I shot three arrows and by aiming about 2 inchs low I put 1 arrow in the circle 1 arrow about 2 inchs high and 1 arrow about 1 inch left but even with the center and I was shooting at 6 feet measured from where my feet were on the platform. So I don't know why I am getting these results but I can say I shot another robin hood right after doing this at 35 yards and I only use 1 pin for 0-35 yards and then I have a 40 yard pin and 50 and they are all touching.. Oh I forgot to tell you I chronoed by bow on Thursday and it was shooting 300 on the money. Walt

Now....the distance between your arrow and your 20 yd pin may vary, some, from bow to bow......but not enough to allow you to put a pin sighted in at 20 yds on a 2yd target and hit it.

Your arrow .......your sight line (either through a peep or not) down your 20 yd pin ......form 2 lines that come together at 20yds. They are not on the same plane....and the arrow is below the pin sight line. So....the arrow is coming slightly up to meet the line (although it's arcing above the line and coming back down).

At 2yds......it doesn't have enough "room" or "time" to make up the difference. If you aim at your spot with your 20 yd pin (that is sighted in for 20yds).....you will hit low. Period (barring user error).
Unless your arrow crosses your line of sight at 2 yards and then again at 20 yds...

I think this might be some the biggest Horse sh*t I have ever seen on this site. I mean after 20 yrs of bowhunting and and as many kills, I have shot one pin from 0-25 yds and I shoot a deer or target at 4 yds and then at 20 yds it hitthe same spot. I don't even give a thought when shooting, deer or target. Put the damn pin on the deer/target and shoot. All this geometry and angle stuff is just getting out of control. Now, Brett just your way and keep killing deer.
