RE: jmbuckhunter and GMMAT
I think maybe stabnslab_WI thinks your elbow is too high up in the air and is not inline with your arrow. Then again I'm from WI too so maybe it is straight and I just don't see it. ;)

That elbow is up too high.;) Look at RutNut's avatar. That'sa small pic, but it still showsproper form. Notice the "T" effectof hisbody.

My elbow can't go any lower and with me shooting the proper draw length. It just can't....maybe with a longer loop or release, but that's it ;) |

ORIGINAL: RuttNutt watch your fingers........:D This bow has made me get into doing that, and I'm trying to get out of it in my hunting bow [:-] |

The last pic shows your stance is too tight. Your feet should be squared with your shoulders. Get that elbow down!:D:D:D

RE: jmbuckhunter and GMMAT
I am not getting any big buck pics right now. I get lots of does and little ones. I see nice bucks in the bean fields on my neighbors property. But I don't have any food plots planted yet. I think the bucks are bedding next to the fields and just jumping out in the evenings to eat, and bedding up again near the fields. They are around, just not in front of my cams.
Here are a few pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() P.S. I'll post the big buck pics with me sitting behind him later! |

Early, how much experience do you have with this? Legitimate experience? |
RE: jmbuckhunter and GMMAT
All I can say is I've been shooting a bow for about 30 years, and I can say with confidence that I know good form when I see it. I'm no instructor
if that's what you're asking. If you're happy with your form and are shooting well, don't pay me any never mind.;):D |
RE: jmbuckhunter and GMMAT
All I'm saying is, there isn't anything wrong with a little higher elbow if it's not TOO high. There are MANY pro's who shoot this way. Another good thing to look at is look at how many pro's have a low elbow. Virtually none. Those numbers don't lie ;)
I higher elbow makes it a little easier to activate a release with backtension....I'm not sure why that is. I would LOVE to change my elbow position if I could, but I can't. I'll be going to a coach here in a few weeks, we'll see what he has to say ;) |

RE: jmbuckhunter and GMMAT
The rear elbow is just about perfect for a handheldbt release shooter. If you were a fingers shooter with a low anchor, then it might be too high.
The stance in the avatar is a little too open for 3-d imo (which we have discussed) and the pic that early said you were too tight ,you are too tight. For targets, you should never go closer than shoulder width,UNLESS footing doesn't allow. Amazing that the one that started it couldn't elaborate on what he THINKS was wrong. Results are what matter and you are getting results. |
