can they keep you from getting your legal limit.

OK i went to the dnr office on the public land i will hunt.
Here we have bonus antlerless tags we can get with a county by county limit. My county is 3 bonus tags.

I can get two antler less deer or one buck one doewith a bow one per license.
I can get a buck with a gun license
i can then get one doe or one buck with my ml license.
I can only kill one buck if i do it with a bow i am done during gun season.

So there i can get four deer.
With my bones tags i can then get 3 more for a total of 7 deer a year.
On the public land you can not use the bonus tags until the last 6 days of gun season through Jan 6th which ends bow season.

So if i kill two with my bow my buck with a gun tag one with my mil tag.
Then i get three bones antlerless deer. i will have 7 deer. which is legal.

The women told me i could not kill that many deer on the fish and wildlife area. but the law states other wize.

What should i do.

I would say....... I read the regualtions different. Can I speak to your supervisor.
I call the DNR all the time and they try to answer my qustions......... thing is the person your talking to is reading the regs and doesn't know much about hunting at all. When I hit a spot that doesn't jive with game regs I go farther up the chain. At this step I ask for it in writing...... with a signature. That way if I get hit b/c they qoeted me the wrong reg's I have a leg to stand on in court. Never gotten that far but somewday it will happen. I plan for the unexpected.

That is exactly what i have done . You will get diffent answers depending on who you talk to. I once asked about goose
hunting with a bow and a lot were not sure what the regulations said about it . most tried to interpet it as gun hunting
They had me go ask further up the chain of command. I never did get a definate answer because the head guy was out on vacation and the land owner where i was going to go changed her mind about hunting them on her land [:@]

I think a specific controlled WMA can set it's own harvest standards. Too bad they don't allow you to fill your muzzleloader tags and firearms tags with the bow.

not sure about filling ml and gun tags with abow.
But all i have found as far as there limit is you can fill you bow gun and ml tags there then use the bounse tags starting the 6th day from the end of gun season which give me the last 6 of gun season all of ml season and the rest of bow which ends jan 6th
But when i add it up and said so if what your saying is true i cna get 7 deer.
Not sure if she was just dumb with math or what, but she did not like the answer i came with.

Ask someone else.

FWIW they can do whatever. You have the rite to chalenge it. It will cost you. The whole thing can be thrown out in court. Sucks!

Don't count your deer before you have them :D.

ya i know i just wanted to know before season if i know i can drop to quick with my bow for meat then go back in with the bounse tags for a big one. it changes what i would do.
If i can only kill two with my bow i might bemore willing to let the smallone walk in the early days.

i talked to the guy at the local bait shop he know his stuff.
He said with every state tags you can get 7
but on fish and wildlife areas they can say you can only get one with a bonus tag
i will call the head office before season rolls around

Regs are weird. Ya got to read the whole thing. Ohio is like that and as an added sticker they put in there something like "This publictions doesn't cover all the regulations, contact ... for the complete rules" Even then I don't think they would make any more sense.

Several places in our regs it talks about shooting a buck here, there, this season, that season... Bottom line, you can only shoot one period. You wont know that unless you read the whole thing. They have improved the wording over the years. Our bag limits are similarly worded.

If they say the same thing again, they're not keeping you from reaching your limit, your not adding things up right.
