if your 17, that seems like WAY too light of a bow. im 15 and pulling 60# with NO problem whatsoever

Never hunted hog or javelina, but I have hunted deer for years. When I was growin up I had a pse set at 50lbs and it did fine. I dont really know that I would go much less than 50 tho. I would seriously suggest doin some excercises specifically to increase your draw weight ability. They even make an excercise tool just for that. It used tobe soldin Cabella's.
Then again, this is strictly just my honest opinion. I dont keep up a great deal with the most modern bow abilitiesas far as speed and kinetic energy.
You do wanna be sure you know what what you r doin tho, because if not you will go out there just wounding animals and causing them to suffer.
