This may sound funny, but after I switched to blazers... my ST's didn't whistle at all.
Also, have you ever stood down range and listened to an arrow coming to you? When I first started shooting these heads, they did whistle. So safely we arranged it so that I sat fairly close to the target while a buddy shot the bow... it was silent from in front of the arrow. I've thought about this as well. The first sound that is created is from the bow going off, if the deer reacts to that as most of them do... then it doesn't matter what noise happens between the release of the arrow and impact for a couple of reasons. First off, once they react, they are committed to their reflexes. Second, even if they do hear the "whistle" their reaction will be the same... to tense the all the muscles (which is what causes the so called "jumping string"). Either way, if your arrow is where it needs to be... you're eating backstraps. JMHO... They are a tremendous head. |
