Possible Bad Limb on my BOWTECH???

Well, I have to start by saying i love my 2005 bowtech allegiance! But the last couple times that i shot i have not been shooting very good. My 20 yard pin was good but my 30,40,50 yard pins were low. I could not understand it, my pin gap has been the same since i got the bow. I checked to make sure that my sight, rest, string loop, peep, and everything was solid and the bucknasty string is in great shape(i replaced it over the last winter). Then today i noticed a shaving hanging off of my bottom limb. Is that what a cracked limb starts as???? I stopped shooting and will not shoot until i can take it to the shop. Does anyone have any suggestions or pictures of bows with cracked limbs so i can compare??? Thanks for all of your help on this situation!

I have seen several pics of bowtech limbs on Archery Talk that have broken. Actually, there is a case in Ohio where a man was killed when his bow broke in half.[:'(] In the article they didn't say the manufacturer of the bow, but I'm sure it will come out in the suit.Needless to say, I wouldn't be shooting any bow that hasa cracked limb.

My advice is to take a pic an email it to bowtech andI wouldn't touch it until they responded. On a positive note every limb horror story I have heard about Bowtechhas ended with them doing the right thing.

Take the bow into a local authorized Bowtech dealer and have them check it out for you. If it turns out that you do in fact have a cracked limb then Bowtech will take care of you as quickly as the dealer gets your bow shipped.

A bow that is three years old having a cracked limb isn't as suprising to me as one that is brand new, so don't feel too incredibly down because of it. Bowtech will get things straightened out.

By what your describing it's NOT a cracked limb rather a cosmetic sliver off the edge? You shouldn't have an issue getting new limbs and if it's just a cosmetic sliver (WH gives great advice, have a Pro Shop check it) it's not a shooting issue.

For years when I shot Hoyts, especially carbonite limbs, they'd peel slivers off constantly with no worse the wear for shooting. Have a dealer check it to be sure.

When Hoyt came out with the laminated xt series limbs, they would sliver on the edges quite abit.Completely harmless. Many did get them replaced at the time.I had 1 do it and I just sanded it and no one new any different. They don't do it much now though.

If you don't know the difference, make sure it is checked out for sure. That can definately cause problems with your pin gap.;)

Any bow could do that after a couple years. I am sure bowtech will take care of you. Great company.

This is another reasonwhy my local dealer quit dealing with Bowtech.

your string may have streched and you might have lost some poundage so it would show up at 30-40-50 yards when your shootn

Hey guys thank you for all of the good suggestions! I am going to take the bow on saturday to try to figure it out. I just don't like the pin gap changing like that and i want to see if it is more than a sliver.

These things happen to all bows. It's one of those deals, Things Break. It can be a brand X or the best in the business.... things do fail
