RE: Mechanicals heads?
Ok I just measured a Rage head:
The fully deployed and locked position is exactly 2" in width The blades laid out horizontally at their greatest reach is 2-9/16" |

RE: Mechanicals heads?
I'd love to hear about it Matt! It wouldn't surprise me if you got good penetration. I'm thinking I could shoot them with my set up but I won't. Do it Matt!!! Throw a 50gr brass weight behind it and I'd have a 150gr Rage 2 blade. Oh what would people say!? What's next, dogs and cats living together!?[:-]:D |

ORIGINAL: iamyourhuckleberry I’m just trying to understand why people put themselves through unnecessary troubles with mechanical broad heads. Bottomline, stop trying to understand why other people do things and concentrate on those things that work for you. If fixed blades work, by all means use them. If they give you the confidence to get the job done, then brilliant! Obviously, I gather fromthe quote above, you have already made up your mind as to which type of broadhead you're using. Go with that decision and grow. On the other hand, I will gladly show you photograph after photograph of all the problems I've had with mechanicals...they seem to be stacking up. Matt and TFOX, I like your responses. |
