Acorns
I've been looking at the oaks aroundmy house and back at my land, and it looks like we're gonna have a great year for acorns. Last year wasn't too productive. The white oaks on campus here at Auburn look so good that it has actually crossed my mind tohang a standat Toomer's Corner . That would surely shock the h*ll outta the little uppity sorostitutes, lol. Just wondering, if anybody has been checking trees, how acorns in different parts of the country compare right now. About how soon do they start dropping where you are?

We had the best year for acrons ever here in wi last year and you know what, the hunting sucked. There were so many acorns on the ground that the deer never had to move to find anything to eat. this year there arent so many, so hopefully the deer will be on the move more often. Just because you havbe a good acorn crop, doesnt meen youll have a good deer season, we had so many that 90% of them are still on the ground rotting....last year was the first year in about 10 years that we ever had so many acorns.

RE: Acorns
We had the largest acorn drop that I have ever seen last year. I had a rough time consistently getting around deer last year because they had so much feed on the ground. As I walk the woods this summer, I still see a tremendous amount of acorns rotting on the ground.
