New Arrows?
I've been wanting to try a heavier arrow and like most other bow hunters spend a few more dollars on my obession.
My previous arrows were: GoldTip XT Hunters 5575 26.25'' 100gr head 358 total weight Today I got my new arrows which are: GoldTip Pro Hunter 7595 26.5'' 100gr head 440 total weight If you do the math I went 82gr heavier. I went out today for a few quick shots and there didn't appear to betoomuch of a difference in drop between the two arrows.Notmuch as I expected. One thing that I did notice is that my bow is much quiter now. I haven't went to the shop yet to see how much speed I lost, but hopefully I gained some KE. So, what do you guys think? Do you think I'mshooting too heavy of an arrow? My bow is a 07' TomKat set at 70lbs 27.5'' DL with a loop. |
RE: New Arrows?
I sure hope not. Mine's heavier.....shooting a 60# bow.

RE: New Arrows?
your still considered "light" by most.. for me... I'll be shooting for a 350grn arrow.

RE: New Arrows?
I don't think they are too heavy, I too just went to the 7595's plus I will be adding 3gr weight tubes which should put me in the 500+ range...You might be just a hair on the stiff side but GT's chart shows you to be good...

RE: New Arrows?
One reason I went with the 7595 is because of my short DL. According to the chart (as was said) it shows that it should be alright.
I only less than 50 shots rotating the arrows every shot and as I said I haven't noticed any difference in flight. Just don't want the change to actually "hurt" me. |
