mold and deer
OK guys a dry waller i had during some work
who actual walk off the job i bought some old plywood some 1/2 some 1/4 a few 3/4 inch stuff it is bowed and moldy from setting if i had seen it before he took it to my basement i would have laughed at him But since he walked off i got it for free I thought about using it for hunting blinds would the mild smell bother the deer also do you think it would be OK if i sprayed it down with bleach and painted it |

bleach it, dry it, paint it, you should be ok.

I think the bleach and paint would be more offensive to the deer than the mold. There is mold all around their environment. Bleach and paint, not so much.

I know some guys who use plywood blinds. They make pit blinds out of them....so that only a few feet is above ground....and brush the tops in.
They sit on lounge chairs while they hunt.;).....and step into a depressed (dug out) are and stand as they shoot. Works for them. |

No bleaching. Plus, the bleach may cause it to delaminate, I don't know. |

I would think if you are planning on building your blinds any time before the season starts, you would be fine. My family has some shooting houses we built for gun season, they are painted plywood. The deer may notice them at first, but once they have been out for a while, the odor will go away and the deer will not pay them any mind. Hell, I have bow hunted out of a couple of them when it was raining and I felt like being a wuss, shot deer with a bow out of them. Go for it.

what i thought to do was cut shooting holes out in diff places. Take two sheet fix them in the ground and a third tide to one piece then pull it to the other to inclose the thing.
I am alittle worried of the mold smell making me sick maybe spray it off then hope it does not grow back i will install them in sept when it is legal to on govt land |
