How do they take it?

I was out planting a couple food plots this past weekend and got swarmed by deerflies and mosquitos. Man I probably had 10 bites from deerlflies and another 20 from mosquitos. How do the deer take those nasty bugs?

That's probably why I see them crossing and running around during the day right now trying to get away from those nasty things.

However I got 3 out of my 5 food plots planted for bowhunting this year. Can't wait!!!

I know when a deer fly lands on my head....it's mor annoying than anything. I've never actually had one bite me where I have hair.

I'm also not certain a mosquito can bite a deer through it's fur, either.

So.......I'm no expert.....but I'd say their fur does a wonderful job of keeping them from getting bitten. In areas around their faces.....where they have little fur.....I'd hope their skin was thick enough to thwart most bites.

I saw a BUNCH of bees get on my Labrador retreiver, once....and ther must have been 50 on her fur. I 'think" I remember the vet saying she actually got stung about 3 times. So I'm sure her fur helped her out in that instance.

I often wondered the same thing - that and how the heck they make it through some of the nasty briars and thick foliage without making a sound

I was wondering the same thing Kat! Yesterday I went out and finally put some trail cams up, it was in the middle of the day and I got hammered from the mosquito's and deer flys. I must of had close to 50 bites from deer flys in 25 minutes of being in the woods. This is the worst crop of deer flys I've seen ever.

DEER FLIES AND MOSQUITO'S are the direct spawn of Lucifer himself, I am convinced of that. I kind of think ticks are a fallen angel as well.

I have often wondered how they can stand those nasty bugs. I have seen them out in the open splashing around in my pond, i believe in an attempt to get some relief from the bugs.

What effect does thermocell have on deer flies?
