Hunting channels

Hi all, since this is mainlywhereI hang out, I thought I'd askyou all this question. In lieu of the upcoming digital conversion starting next Feb., I am finally going to break down and order some form of dish tv. I am in a boone-docky area that doesn't get cable. First, is one network better than the other? I'm not even sure how many there are. Second, what are some of the outdoor channels I should be looking for them to carry? I watch them when I'm visiting mom and dad in PA, but I can't recall which ones they have. Do you have to pay extra to get these types of channels, or are they usually part of the package.Hope you're all having a good summer, andthanks for your help.

Dish network, 153,140, an 144. If you get the basic package 153 will cost you 2.99 extra.
