I started shooting a bow back in 1976, Bear polar white glass recurve, still have it; no one in the family directly hunts, but I've always had the itch. Couple of distant uncles hunted, must be in my blood. hopefully my youngest son will take it up. you've embarked on a lifelong obsession, welcome.

my dad hunted with a grizzly reflex bow and a straight bow since 1959 and gave me the bug when i was a young boy. i had a 35# shakespear recurve and shot my first doe. the woods are great during bow season,, dont feel pressured to hunt for trophies, learn what you can and enjoythe out doors. fall is the best time of the year.
