Whys it called Bowhunting?

I've always wondered why this section of the forum is called the bowhunting section? While the other sections are Deer Hunting, Big Game Hunting and the like. I'm pretty sure we're not hunting the bows, are we?

Because "BOW" is shorter than "STICK AN STRING";)

I have always thought it should be called "Bowhunter's Forum" becuase that is who hangs out here. Most of the threads here do not come close to talking about bowhunting but most of the people in the threads bowhunt.

RE: Whys it called Bowhunting?

Just like different parts of the military have different functions and names, Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines.......the infantry guys for the main part would like to discuss the things happening on Terra Firma, while the naval guys more than likely would be discussing things that have to do with water. And then there is some crossover, where they would be talking about things that are common to all military personnel. But for the most part, people like to talk about things that are very specific to them, and in this case, it is hunting with a bow.

RE: Whys it called Bowhunting?

well if you go out in the woods with your bow to hunt deer you are bowhunting and that is what this forum is about bowhunting so that is why they called it that

That won't work because there are a lot fewer "Bowhunters" here than people. A lot of Wannabees. LOL Maybe we should call it the Wannabees Forum.:) Honestly, we call it the bowhunting forum because most of us here bowhunt, are totally serious about it and think it's the only way to go. Until recently that's all that was discussed here. In the past couple months all the rules about off topic subjects don't apply here for many. We have all sorts of conversations now. You have to read between the lines to find bowhunting stuff.
