Kenetic Energy

How do you know how much kenetic energy your bow has?

RE: Kenetic Energy

Kinetic Energy Formula:

KE = (total weight of arrow / 450240) x (velocity x velocity)

An example:

A bow shoots a 460gr arrow at 270 ft/sec

KE = (460gr/450240) x (270 x 270)
KE = 0.001021677 x 72900
KE = 74.48 ft/lbs

Hope this helps

In other words, weigh your arrows and then shoot thru a chronograph. Then plug the numbers into the formula.
