Mountain Mike (ADDED PICS)

I cant help it, i have to know your feelings :DMe and a co worker were talking about an article in NWT magabout a story of a buck namedmountain Mike. The guy who killed it has the mad'est look on his face in the pic. I have seen him in other articles and he had that tough guy look as well as if to say, yeah im bad. Whats up with that? If i killed a buck of that caliber i would be cheesing a mile wide :DHas any one else seen that? Its just a peeve of mine. Be happy people :)

RE: Mountain Mike

Correct - it was Bobby Worthington. And I think he's just that kind of dude that never smiles. He's killed a ton of big bucks and I've never seen him smile in any photos.

Also, the video of that hunt is on the Real World Whitetails DVD w/Don Higgins, Steve Stoltz, and a few other guys. It's not the greatest DVD in the world, but its worth a watch. After reading the story I had to see it.

I don't think I brought that one with me. I know I had some Drury DVDs and maybe the new Realtree Monster Bucks.

It looks like he takes his hunting very seriously, or he is seriously constipated.

I have read the article and have read his book, which is an exceptional book by the way.I don't believe he is scowling,I think that is how his face looks ordinarily. It definitely would be nice to see a smile or a grin but that's his business.Obviously a very talented hunter! His son was behind the camera on his hunt, great to share that with your son!

Does anyone actually know the guy?

I sometimes have the same problem. It's not that I'm angry or trying to look like a Bad A$$, I'm trying to see if my camera man is using the camera properly! My friend Sam is horrible at picture taking! [:o]He'll usually have his finger over the lens, have the camera cocked at a weird angle and almost always chops off either the deers or my head! I always end up with couple shots of me with "the look". That's why it is important to take way more pics than you think you need. You can always delete the bad ones.

See what I mean? [:-]

I guess I'm OK with anything anyone does when getting their kill photos on film.

When they start flashing gang type signs....I might change my tune, though. :D If 'ol Germy shoots Mr. Mass, this fall......he may post a photo flashing the shocker. He rolls like that.

Greg, we call what you have on your face a smirk.;):D At least your trying. I sometimes have that same issue when my wife takes pictures. Thanks goodness for digitals today so I can double check her work and tell her to take some more. LOL

Oh if/when Germ shoots Mr. Mass I'm not sure we allow those type of pictures on here at all. [8D]

Maybe the guy just has jacked up teeth?

I read the first installment of the story and I need to go check it out again but I almost sort of remember it having an "I'm the man" sort of air about it..........was I just imagining that?

Yeah Greg but the difference is you don't have to sit 15 feet behind the deer to make it look bigger....Maybe the dud's pissed off because he wishes his arms were longer.:D:D:D

It is kind of funny I was showing my wife a picture of myself that is on a testimonials page for a camo manufacturer just yesterday and she said you look kind of smug in the picture.I was doing my best to have a pleasant look on my face because I don't like the no emotion photographs. For me I think that I was really physically and emotionally spent,I had killed the buck on the last day of a ten day hunt, hunting in rain, freezing rain and sleet practically every day,and walking many miles each day.
You think about it,your up early, your physically exerting in the hunt it self you may have dragged the animal a very long distance and then you are posing for pictures, easy to understand how you may not look fresh and happy.
And John,I don't care how far Bobby is behind that buck, that thing is a slammer.I have seen that photo before in his book,I am going to check to see if he mentions his score, not that it matters,I just want to see what the measurement is relative to my perception from the photograph of how good a buck I believe it to be.

Some of us don't like our photo taken at all and second to that, don't like the way we look smiling so when the picture is taken, we have a dour look on our faces. Last time I had my pic taken, my guide noticed I wasn't smiling and said something to the affect that it looked like I was being intimate with the turkey just before the next pic was taken. I was caught smiling but still don't like the photo other than it'll always remind me of my first turkey that had 3 beards.
