Magnus Stingers
 

I had my mind made up to use Magnus Stingers on my trad bow this fall, but now I am considering using them on both my set-ups. I just want some feedback first before I use them on both bows.

So who has used them? What did you like? Not like?

2 or 4 blade?

How are they as far as:

Flight?
Penetration?
Blood Trails?
Etc?



Also, Is there anything to be gained with the Buzzcuts? I honestly can't see how a serrated edge would help anything, but maybe I'm just not seeing it. Tell me what you think.

I've used them on my traditional bows in the past and like them a lot and have killed deer with them. I was using the 150 grain four blade. What I really liked about them were the small bleeders and the sharpness out of the box. Blood trails were very good. My only problem which is not a fault of the broadhead is that I often find myself crowding the shoulder so penetration was so-so. Out of four deer thatI killed with them, one was a passthough.

I just bought the 4-blades and I really like them so far. They are dead on with my fieldpoints. At 40 yards I have no variance between my fieldpoints. I spent a lot of time paper tuning my bow, so I'm sure that helps. I'm going on a hog hunt with them tomorrow so hopefully I'll have more to tell tomorrow night. If I do my job they should do theirs.

I shot about three deer with them and all the deer I shot dropped within site. The blood trails were good on to of them and the other I hit very high and it did not pass thru the other side becuase of the shoulder. However it still fell within site. I used the 85 grain 4 blades. They are a great head.

Flight- Excellent, you find a better flying fixed blade head. Though I've have the main blade bend very slightly and it would throw it off significantly.
Penetration- Probably the best you'll find
Blood trails- Pretty decent, they don't create a huge hole...

I shot these fora while, but then found the Slick Tricks that: Fly just as well, Penetrate and shatter bone extremely well and create massive blood trails!!!!:D

I wouldn't have to get new broadheads if I had the Crimson Talons you promised me:D:Djk

Im dissapointed with the CTs thats why I'm switching.

i use them on my compound and recurve and i love them more than any broadhead.get the four blades though

Why the four blades?
I shot them the last couple of years and am switching to the two blades this year because several of the bleeder blades either bent or cracked.

I like the Magnus 2 bladed "Nugent Blade" better than the Stinger....
