A few deer pictures
I went out tonight with my camera and my spotting scope. I tried taking pics through my spotting scope but I ................ well I suck at it! [:@] If anyone has any advice on this.... I'm all ears.
I almost didn't need the spotting scope because once they noticed me they became curious and walked towards my truck! I spotted a monster in a bean field but the traffic was too much for me to stop and take a pic. [&o] ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() See what I mean? [:o] |

RE: A few deer pictures
I've only taken pics through my spotting scopes a couple of times. In order for me to get clear images I couldn't use any of the zoom on the camera and had to slowly start the scope from its lowest power and work my way up. As previously saidits a pain in the arse to keep the camera in the same spot while doing this.
Hope this helps Tom |

Its hard to take pictures through a spotting scope without a camera that you can manually focus. Ive tried it with my small digital and the autofocus always seems to mess it up...

They call it Digiscoping now. Here is a link to a site about it http://www.spottingscopes.com/digiscopingtutorialarticle.cfm.Or you can do a search yourself.MH is right the scopes thatautofocus are the hardest to get pictures from.

I like the pic where the Spike is laying down.
How many do you think we walk past without even knowing? Thanks Proffesor Hanson! |
RE: A few deer pictures
When Quik gets back he should be able to give you some tips. He got some good pics last summer through his scope.
I think I saw something in Cabelas that was an attachment for the spotting scope's eyepiece for attaching a camera. I have no idea how well they work, but that might be worth a try. Most of the pics you posted came out pretty good, so you must be getting the hang of it a bit. |
