RE: Would you trespass to get to your stand?
Correct me if I am wrong. But if the creek gives you access. Isnt all waterways state owned(was told this from a big trout fisher I know) and you can use the creek to enter your hunting area. Yes they might get a lil mad at you, but I believe thats the legal way of doing so. Might want to look into this.
Did the alpaca people say...."You keep a knockin' but you cant come in" haha? |
RE: Would you trespass to get to your stand?
I have neighbors that do not allow hunting. What I did was this....
I took an aerial map with their property and the property I wanted to hunt to their door. I had marked it up to show the access route I wanted to use....and showed them why it was important for me to be able to use that access. I then told them I had NO INTENTIONS of hunting on their property.....but that I would like to be able to walk trough it. I've never been turned down. One of these landowners even eats venison. I took them two young hams, last season. I'm "in", now....and can hunt the land if I choose to. I just don't "push it", though. I haven't hunted it, yet. Probably won't. Correct me if I am wrong. But if the creek gives you access. Isnt all waterways state owned(was told this from a big trout fisher I know) and you can use the creek to enter your hunting area. |
RE: Would you trespass to get to your stand?
First, do the right thing and ask if you can "walk" through their land to access your spot. If they say no, just explain how you really don't want to make public their reefer patch. Tell them you'll work with them if they'll work with you.;):D:D:D

RE: Would you trespass to get to your stand?
Trespassing is trespassing. Not a good idea. If you can't get permission, you're SOL, and find another place to hang a stand that is more accessible or deal with having to go in earlier. Sorry.

RE: Would you trespass to get to your stand?
I would think that sneaking across theproperty to hunt would not be nearly as complicated as trying to drag a 200 buck back out the same way[&:]

RE: Would you trespass to get to your stand?
Oneshot, I once had that problem off the Rappahanock river here in Virginia. I found a small tributary off the river that flowed into some swaps....the place was absolutely loaded with big largemouth bass. The "land" owner would yell at me and threaten to call the cops everytime I went down to fish. After awhile it worked because the harassment made it no fun. But that dang place was loaded with big fish!

ORIGINAL: Lanse couche couche I would think that sneaking across theproperty to hunt would not be nearly as complicated as trying to drag a 200 buck back out the same way[&:] There I go again, making up my own laws haha. I checked with my friend in Pa you are allowd to use any waterway for entrance or travel, even if by foot or hip wader.(He fishes several streams that run through private property, but as longas he stays in the creek, hes legal)But looks like different states have different laws in regards. I'd check with the state law first! |
RE: Would you trespass to get to your stand?
If it's not posted in NH, then it's not trespassing (live free or die).
Technicaly, your not hunting, just merely hiking with a bow to access you spot, right? |
RE: Would you trespass to get to your stand?
I tend to think like Javert from "Les Miserables", there is a very fine line with law, you are either breaking it or not. I could in no way justify breaking the law for hunting blind access as there are other options available to you, all be it longer and more troublesome.
