Average Home Range = 95% of there radio-telemetry locations Core area = 50% of there radio-telemetry locations Average Home range does 123 to 494 acres Largest does home range was equal to the smallest yearly bucks home range 1 sq mile Resident yearly buck's home range was 1 to 2.9 sq miles I've argued it for a few years now. Just one of many excellent articles that come from the pages of Quality Whitetails. An absolutely excellent mag for any hardcore deer fanatic! I think many people would be surprised at just how impressive and top shelf that the QDMA publication truly is. A must read in my opinion.

Gary the D&DH article went even further.
They cited collared deer from 5 different regions of the US. They also kept track of the various age group deer to determine their results. THAT was a great article, too.....and left very little to "guesswork". I'm gonna join the QDMA though.....if you'll send me the link. I'd love to read more about the Bio. side of the org......more than the hunting side. Thanks. |
