3-D target as decoy?
Earlier this year I bought this target.
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat21424-cat20084_TGP&id=0004681413210a&navCount=6& amp;podId=0004681&parentId=cat20084&master pathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=QX& rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20084& ;hasJS=true
My question is do you think it looks enough like this decoy that I was thinking of buying to be used as a decoy. The weight isnt a problem because I will be leaving it in my woods.

IMO - I wouldnt leave it there. I'd say it looks good enough for a decoy, but deer will get used to it and not pay it any mind, or stay away bc they will figure out something isnt right. Same buck standing same spot same position. They arent that dumb.
Use it but I would take it down each time.

It definately looks real enough to work, but i would rather use an actualy decoy...

RE: 3-D target as decoy?
My neighbor had a 3d target that if he left in the back yard, in the fall hew would come out in the morning and find it in pieces. It only took him buying 3 before he started putting it away at night.
I wouldn't leave it in the woods

I wouldn't leave it up. My hunting land has a small lean too built on it that I leave my ladder stands and things at during the off season. I would be leaving it there.

My only concern would be scent. I know my decoy is made of a hard plastic, where a 3D target is made out of foam. Will the 3D target retain your human odor from putting it up and taking it down each time? I really don't know, but that is what I would be look into.
