New Bow - Man Law Photo

With a very heavy heart I parted ways with my 05 Ally last week. This week my new Diamond Marquis showed up and I got her all dressed up tonight and ran a few arrows through her. Much the same as the first time I shot the bow at the ATA show I was impressed with the smooth draw cycle, solid wall, and quiet, shock-free shot. I am looking forward to killing some animals dead with it this fall. :D

Specs:
'08 Diamond Marquis
28" DL set @ 67 lbs
NAP Smart Rest dropaway
NAP Blackjack stabilizer
Copper John Dead Nuts 2 Micro sight
G5 Meta Peep

I will most likely put an Octane 1 piece quiver on it, and possibly a MeanV string suppressor. I'm not a big fan of the stock one.

1. You were out chasing bucks through the grass fields of Lake County
2. I didn't know I was going until about 4 when the wondeful UPS man showed up

Welcome to the club........my Marquis is also in my #1 slot for a hunting bow this season. :)

There's just something about the whole package that makes it feel effortless to shoot. OF course it won't see any action untilI'm in Illinoismyself but that's the one that is getting the nod this season.

(I also removed the factory suppressor and added a MeanV........gives it a little cleaner look)

Speaking of 'Cleaner Looks" what the hell are those things attacking your bowstring!?[:-]

They're coming off soon. The guy at the shop randomly put them on when I wasn't looking and I didn't want to be a d-bag and tell him to take them off. So I'll take them off in the privacy of my own home and put in the sting leeches I have sitting on my desk. :D

The string leeches will only rip apart anyways. Haven't found any that will stay on my Guardian. I'd leave the cat wiskers on. Just give them a haircut!!

Great looking bow. I love my Marquis however I don't have anything on the string yet. It shoots pretty quietly without whiskers or leeches.

peakrut 07-10-2008 05:19 AM

RE: New Bow - Man Law Photo

Really? Man the bow JZ had at the club sure made racket. I believe same bow he just got rid of.
Couple of others also did.

I wonder how much his arrows weigh? I'm shooting a 420gr arrow, 29"DL at 66 lbs and its pretty quiet. I'd imagine I'll put some whiskers on before the season gets here just because ya can't be too quiet but I think I'd be fine without them.

peakrut 07-10-2008 05:27 AM

RE: New Bow - Man Law Photo

Not sure greg but he had nothing on the strings. I cant recall but someone else did have some
leeches on and still was loud. Both bowtech's but not faulting that just something was not right.
I know my shooting was not right for sure. I have since fixed it.

That's a nice shooter. I'm betting you already love it.

I will most likely put an Octane 1 piece quiver on it,
I want one of these, too.....but I may go 2-piece. If you're using an expandable.....I'd like to know how the BH "seats" in the protective end of the quiver.

Congrats on your new bow.

I've checked them both out for my Commander. My arrows are retardedly (is that a word?) so I think I may go with the two piece to have the arrow supported at points that are farther apart. With the magnetic hood, your rages will pretty much be completely inside the hood, they are pretty deep. For expandables, it definitely beats foam.

Kind of funny, my cousin just traded in his 05 ally after shooting my 07 lighter ally and got the marquis.
Man I love bowtech.

Justin,

Great name by the way. :) I am a ball buster sometimes and after looking at this for the last week or so:

"I am looking forward to killing some animals dead with it this fall. :D"

Just how dead do you want it to be. I never killed a dead animal before. LOL! Nice bow by the way. My wife is shipping my old as dirt Darton to Iraq to relieve stress during my downtime. I am jealous of all you guys back home with your new bows. I was gonna buy a new one but decided to wait till I get home to shoot a few. By the way good luck this season.

Justin, what do you like on the Marquis over the Ally? thought the ally was a top notch bow. Does it shoot that much better, quieter, smoother,?
